The single higher degree Master of Theology (MTh) program by research and is designed for ministers, church administrators or its equivalent. The course is an in-service level 9 degree offered by Pacific Adventist University, equivalent to 240 total credit points and 2400 volumes of learning hours over 2 years of studies in alignment with the Papua New Guinea National Qualification Framework (PNGNQF, 2016).
The MTh is a two-year full-time equivalent mode of study providing advanced theological study for those who have completed a first degree in theology and who have demonstrated the potential for excellent writing and analytical skills. Through a mentoring relationship with research supervisors, research students develop skills in high level analysis and presentation. Research may be undertaken in a range of fields (e.g. religion, theology, ministry, evangelism) and could be applied, involving fieldwork, or be literary based.
